396 Infinova cameras at 7 Stations monitor safety and security of metro passengers.
Solution: Infinova V2216 network video management and IP Cameras
Infinova IP pan-tilt-zoon cameras, encoders and video management software (VMS) are being installed on the new Turkish Metro project in Istanbul. The line will start at Turkey's main bus terminal and continue through its Bagcilar district, past the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, to the fourth stage of the Basak Housing Units, becoming operational by 2011. The rail line will transport 36,000 people an hour. The new digital surveillance system, consisting of 396 cameras at seven stations, is being implemented by USKOM, a Turkish integrator with offices in Istanbul and Ankara. It replaces an older analog system.
The Turkish Metro officials were not only impressed by USKOM's proposal and the features of the Infinova solutions, but also appreciated the help our team provided them. At no charge for our consulting, the Infinova team gave them contacts for access control bollards, x-ray equipment and video analytics. This saved a lot of time and Infinova was pleased to refer them to companies we knew they could trust.
Among the cameras used on the Turkish Metro are approximately 40 Infinova (model #) PTZ IP. (There will be a quick description of the camera here). The project also includes 328 Infinova encoders including V2509M encoders, which feature MPEG-4 and M-JPEG dual encoding and provide the Turkish Metro with two independently configurable video streams for video viewing and recording respectively, in such way to use bandwidth effectively. All cameras and encoders work on the Infinova V2216 VMS, which was recently named a 2010 ASIS Accolades winner for innovative security solutions.
